Global #gtchat Goes to the 13th International Conference of ECHA

Welcome to Global #gtchat Powered by #TAGT! Our topic today is the ‘Symposium on Social Media and #Gifted #Education’

Hallo und herzlich willkommen Global #gtchat !

Hola y bienvenidos a Global #gtchat !

Bonjour et bienvenue sur Global #gtchat !

Hallo en welkom bij Global #gtchat !

Hello és Üdvözöljük Global #gtchat !

Hei og velkommen til Global #gtchat !

Hei ja tervetuloa Global #gtchat !

1080 people, 222 presenters and 43 Nationalities from 5 continents participated at the ECHA conference this year AND so did untold numbers on Twitter via tweets by participants and those joining in #gtchat.

Preparation is everything, and the incredible work of Mr. Tim Dracup certainly paid off at the Symposium on Social Media and Gifted Education held during the ECHA conference in Münster, Germany on September 13th.

It was an extraordinary experience to participate in the Symposium via Twitter. Short of actually being there, it was a virtual event to remember. Tim organized the event, requested all speakers to make their presentations available beforehand, invited #gtchat to assist with online moderation, spoke at the Symposium and facilitated the event in Münster!

For those online, the event went like clockwork. Presentations were followed via tweets, links to the presentations and bios of the speakers were posted as they happened, supplementary information was simultaneously posted adding value to the speakers’ remarks, and pictures were posted enabling a ‘felt like I was there’ experience.

Global #gtchat and TAGT wish to thank ECHA and Tim for allowing us to collaborate in this event and hope that it is the first of many such shared online experiences. On November 30th, #gtchat invites you to tweet with us at the annual TAGT conference, this year from Dallas, Texas. Watch this blog for more information in the near future.

Check out some of the photos that were tweeted during the Symposium!
